A man in his 40s has been charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident. He appeared before the Vestfold District Court Monday morning for the pre-trial detention hearing.

The suspect’s defense attorney, Jonny Sveen, stated that his client denies the accusations.

The suspect also got injured during the arrest. The incident is being investigated by the Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs, an independent body that looks into cases of potential police misconduct.
